On July 12th, 1989, I was born to a couple from the Chicagoland area. Unfortunately, only one of me came out of the womb. This poses quite a few problems when there are SO DAMN MANY events to attend in the summer months. Luckily Clapd Out has made many friends, boyfriends, ex-boyfriends, and frenemies in the short time it's been alive.
One of these ex-boyfriends is Gage Boyd. He is the vanilla to our chocolate, the right to our left, the neck to our giraffe. Without his tireless efforts to document grudge events across the Midwest, we would be a stale site that only re-posted hella-flush shitter pics from your average tom, dick, and harry stance page. We aren't your average shitter-stance site. We are your average, all inclusive motorsportist site. That being said, we will roll out some of the best snaps from Motor City Mayhem 3, as well as a brief overview of the event and what's at stake!
BUT FIRST, SAY HI TO GAGE:
ON TO ZEE MEAT AND ZEE POTATOES
Motor City Mayhem is a grudge racing event. What's a grudge racing event? I'LL TELL YOU LITTLE ONE! A Grudge racing event is one where people from all over the country come from miles away. Each of these racers has a car that looks as if it could be a street car, but very few of them drive these cars on the street. Grudge events each have their own respective rules, all dependent upon the promoter of the race and the track it's being held at. Think "Don King's of racing," all setting up their own battle royals. Motor City Mayhem is put on by a few respective parties. Payso Productions, Team Z motorsports, and Nevascared Racing came together for this to take place. All three of these organizations have done a stellar job of keeping grudge racing in the limelight. (Shout-out to Jay Payso, still waiting on my Payso Productions gear, know you're busy, was that first date legit or was I just a tinder match? please return my calls. I didnt mean to make you pay the bill. You can have top bunk)
Here are the rules for MCM3, in case you want to throw your hat in the ring at the next event. (Pay out was $10,000 ;) )
